Annie & José flew from San Francisco to celebrate their wedding in José’s hometown of Iznatoraf and they invited me over to document the occasion. It was the first time that Annie’s family (who had flown in from Japan) had met José’s family, but the warmth and hospitality of José’s family made everyone who entered their home feel like next of kin.
On the wedding day we strolled through the streets where José grew up and we stopped by one of the hundreds of olive groves surrounding the hilltop town to get right up close to these beautiful old trees that dot the landscape. It was surreal.
Annie and José’s union represents the coming together of two incredibly beautiful cultures. I am so honoured that I was able to witness and share in their day.
