Gemma and Paul’s day is not one I will soon forget. There were so many little things that made it extra meaningful and special.

Everyone pitched in and you could feel how the day was a labour of love. When I first arrived, Gemma’s father was going about tidying up the property to make sure everything was perfect. I noticed buckets of fresh flowers from which Gemma and her sisters created all of the reception decor. There were personalized hand sanitizer bottles waiting for each guest. Paul made the delicious butternut squash soup appetizer. Family members warmed up individual pies (from The Pie Commission, genius idea!) in the family’s kitchen oven - an endless list of quiet, beautiful gestures.

For their portraits, we talked about going to a nearby lake or into the woods. Instead, we ended up along the road leading to their property, just as the sun was setting - it was perfect.

Such warm, loving, caring people. I felt so taken care of and welcomed like family. I drove off with a big smile, grateful for the chance to meet such wonderful people through the work that I do.
